Overview
The Lumberjack is a harvesting profession that specializes in gathering wood from various sources throughout the world. Resource nodes for the lumberjack can vary from Weakened Pine Trees to various roots found in caves. However, nothing is more exciting for a lumberjack than being able kill a large creature like a Treant and then harvesting it for wood.
Choosing the Lumberjack skill is most useful to the Carpenter or Mineralogist. The Carpenter will get the most use out of this skill as the primary resource they use is wood. The Mineralogist primarily works with stone, so it is recommended that Lumberjacking be chosen as a secondary skill.
The Axe
The primary tool used by the Lumberjack is the Axe. If you did not receive your first axe after completing the introductory harvesting quest, you can purchase it from the Harvesting Supply Vendors for no cost. These vendors are located in almost every starting area and in every major city. If you are having trouble locating this vendor, try asking a guard for directions.
As you gain skill in your harvesting, you should start looking for new Axes from either Supply Vendors or other players that are able to craft harvesting tools. The Blacksmith is the only crafting profession that can create and upgrade harvesting tools. Upgraded harvesting tools offer many bonuses such as an increase to your base skill or an increase in the amount of resources you can harvest.
Logs and Timbers
Resources come in two types for the Lumberjack: Logs and Timbers.
- Logs are small pieces of wood that are not a craftable resource.
- A Timber is a craftable resource commonly used by the Carpenter or Mineralogist to make various items such as Staves, Boats or Houses.
You can combine the Logs into Timbers by right clicking a stack of 20 Logs or more. A window will appear giving you the breakdown of the number of Timbers you will receive back, as well as the number of Logs left over. Clicking Convert will accept the process and change the wood to Timbers.
Resources are not only broken down by Tier, but also by rarity. For some Tiers you can find Rare versions and also Ultra-Rare versions. These tend to be useful for crafters performing upgrades or crafting special items. You can find these rares in two ways:
- Finding a resource node with the applicable name, such as Arid Palm Tree.
- Receiving one by chance when harvesting a regular node.
You have a greater chance of receiving a rare resource from a regular resource node if you are participating in a Group Harvest.
Know Your Trees
If you are going to become a successful Lumberjack, you have to learn the different types of trees and wood that can be found. The trick to knowing what Tier of resources the trees are going to provide is in the first word of the name of the tree. For example:
- A Weakened Pine Tree will most likely provide you with Tier 1 or Weakened Logs and Timbers.
The designating names are listed in the resource table below. Once you understand this part of the naming process, you will be able to easily discern from a distance if a tree is too difficult for you to harvest. This becomes more important as you gain skill and have to adventure into more difficult areas to harvest new trees.
It should be noted that there is no accurate way to determine what tier of resource will be available for creatures that become harvestable after they have been killed although the level of the creature is a rough estimate. However, once you begin harvesting, you can move your mouse over the resource icon in the harvesting box, and the tooltip should tell you what type this is.

Overview
Mining is the skill most commonly chosen by Blacksmiths as it involves harvesting metals. The life of a miner is not an easy one as it involves sometimes searching deep in caves to find precious nodes of Ore.
The Pickaxe
The primary tool for the miner is the Pickaxe. If you did not recieve your first Pickaxe after completing the introductory harvesting quest, you can purchase it from the Harvesting Supply Vendor for no cost. These vendors are located in almost every starting area and in every major city. If you are having trouble locating this vendor, try asking a guard for directions.

The Blacksmith is the only crafting profession that can create and upgrade harvesting tools. Upgraded harvesting tools offer many bonuses such as an increase to your base skill or an increase in the amount of resources you can harvest.
Chunks, Ore and You
When Mining, you should notice that you harvest metals in two quantities: Ore and Chunks.
- Chunks are small portions of Ore that are not craftable and cannot be sold.
- Ore are a craftable resources, usable by the Blacksmith, Armorsmith and the Weaponsmith.
You can combine Chunks into Ore by right clicking your mouse on a stack of 20 pieces or more in your inventory. When you do this, a small window will appear with a list of the number of Ore you will receive, as well as the amount of Chunks left over. Once you click Convert the Ore will be deposited into your inventory as well as will any leftover pieces of chunks.
As you will see below, Ore is not only broken down by Tier, but also by relative rarity. For some Tiers you can find Rare versions and also Ultra-Rare versions. These tend to be useful for crafters performing upgrades or crafting special items. You can find these rares in two ways:
- Finding a resource with the applicable name, such as Star Iron Node.
- Receiving one by chance when harvesting a regular node.
You have a greater chance of receiving a rare resource from a regular resource node if you are participating in a Group Harvest.
Know Your Metals
If you are going to become a successful Miner, you have to learn the different types of Metal that can be found. Your first tip that the rock you may be looking at is a metal is that the name of it starts with "Node of__" No other resource has items named in this manner and remembering this could be important when spotting Nodes from a distance.

Overview
Quarrying is the primary skill most chosen by Artificers. Artificers can specialize in Mineralogy and then learn the recipes needed for building houses, but it is the Harvester who has the skill in Quarrying that provides the much needed material for those homes.
The Stonemason Hammer
The Stonemason hammer is the only tool that can be used to harvest rock. If you did not receive your first Stonemason hammer after completing your introductory Harvesting Quest, simply return to the same Harvesting NPC and you can purchase one for no cost. These introductory quests should be availiable in almost every starting area and the Harvesting NPCs can be found in every major city, but if you are having trouble locating one, try speaking to a guard.
After you have started raising you skill in Quarrying, it would be a good idea to start searching for an upgrade to your basic Stonemason hammer. You can find upgrades by speaking to Harvesting Supply Vendors or by purchasing them from players who can craft them. At this time, the Blacksmith is the only crafting profession that can create crafted harvesting tools.
Chunks, Slabs and You
When you begin harvesting stone, you should notice that the stone appears in your inventory in two quantities: Chunks & Slabs
- Chunks are small pieces of stone that are not a craftable resource.
- Slabs are a craftable resource used by Artificers
This does not mean that you should throw away any chunks you receive! You can convert chunks to slabs by right clicking on a stack of 20 or more in your inventory. When you do this a small window will appear giving you a breakdown of the number of slabs you will receive and also the number of chunks that will be left over. Simply click Convert and the new material will show up in your inventory.
Shards and Samples Too
Again, when you harvest stone, you may find that you are occasionally rewarded with two quantities of gemstones: Shards and Samples.
- Shards are small pieces of gemstone that are not a craftable resource.
- Samples are a craftable resource used by primarily by Artificers, primarily Mineralogists
As with other resources, you can convert your "useless" shards into a sample by right-clicking on a stack of 20 shards or more in your inventory in order to receive full samples.
You are never guaranteed to find a gemstone when quarrying. You simply have a chance to find one in any node that you harvest.
Rare and Ultra-Rare Resources
As you will see below, resources are not only broken down by Tier, but also by relative rarity. For some Tiers you can find Rare versions and also Ultra-Rare versions. These tend to be useful for crafters performing upgrades or crafting special items. You can receive a rare or ultra-rare by chance when harvesting a regular node.
You have a greater chance of receiving a rare resource from a regular resource node if you are participating in a Group Harvest.
Know Your Stone
If you are going to be successful at harvesting stone and gems, you have to learn the different types of deposits that can be found. Your first tip that the rock you may be looking at is a stone resource is that it has the word "Mineral" in the name. No other resource has items named in this manner and remembering this could be important when spotting deposits from a distance.
For example:
- Small Mineral Cluster will most likely provide you with Tier 1, e.g. Basalt Block and a chance for a Quartz Sample.

Overview
The Reaping skill is used primarily by Outfitters who then plan on training further and becoming Tailors. The Tailor uses the textiles provided by plants throughout Telon to craft various items such as bags and clothing.
The Sickle
The primary tool used for Reaping is the Sickle. If you did not receive a sickle after completing your introductory harvesting quest, you can return to that NPC and purchase one for no cost. These NPCs can be found in almost all of the starting villages and in every major city. If you find you are having difficulty locating an instructor, try asking a guard for directions.
As you progress in skill with Reaping, you should consider upgrading your basic sickle. You can purchase upgraded tools from either Harvesting Supply Vendors or from players who can craft them. At this time the only crafting profession that can craft harvesting tools is the Blacksmith.
Sheafs, Bales and You
When harvesting plants, you should notice that you are gathering resources in two quantities: Sheafs and Bales.
- Sheafs are small pieces of plant that are not craftable.
- Bales are a craftable resources, usable by the Outfitters and Tailors.
You can combine Sheafs into Bales by right clicking your mouse on a stack of 20 pieces or more in your inventory. When you do this, a small window will appear with a list of the number of Bales you will receive, as well as the amount of Sheafs left over. Once you click Convert the Bales will be deposited into your inventory as well as will any leftover Sheafs.
As you will see below, plants are not only broken down by Tier, but also by relative rarity. For some Tiers you can find Rare versions and also Ultra-Rare versions. These tend to be useful for crafters performing upgrades or crafting special items. You can find these rares in two ways:
- Finding a resource with the applicable name, such as Mature Cotton Plant.
- Receiving one by chance when harvesting a regular node.
You have a greater chance of receiving a rare resource from a regular resource node if you are participating in a Group Harvest.
Know your Plants
If you are going to become successful at Reaping, you need to learn your plants. Finding harvestable plants is not as easy as finding metals or stone, as those resources tend to be much larger and easy to spot from a distance. Plants blend in with the landscape and can easily be overlooked. One of the best ways to locate plants is to use the /targetnextnode command. By placing this in a macro you can cycle through any harvestable nodes nearby.

Overview
The Skinning skill is commonly adopted by those who plan on becoming Outfitters and then training further in Leatherworking. Skinning involves harvesting hides from the carcasses of animals. There are a myriad of creatures who have the potential to be skinned and they can be found on every continent and in almost every area.
The Skinning Knife
The Skinning knife is the tool of trade for those who harvest leather. If you did not receive your first Skinning knife after the introductory harvesting quest, simply return to that NPC and you can purchase one for no cost. You can find these Supply Vendors in almost every starting area and in every major city. If you find you are having difficulty locating one, try asking a guard.
As you progress with your Skinning skill, you should think about upgrading your harvesting tool. You can either purchase an upgraded version from a Harvesting Supply Vendor or buy one from a player that can craft them. At this time, the only crafting profession that can craft upgraded tools is the Blacksmith.
Strips, Hides and You
You have probably noticed that you can gather two types of resources when Skinning: Strips and Hides
- Strips are small pieces of leather that are not a craftable resource.
- Hides are a craftable resource commonly used by the Outfitter or Leatherworker to make various items such as bags and armor.
You can combine the Strips into Hides by right clicking a stack of 20 Strips or more in your inventory. A window will appear giving you the breakdown of the number of Hides you will receive back, as well as the number of Strips left over. Clicking Convert will accept the process and change the leather into Hides.
Resources are not only broken down by Tier, but also by rarity. For some Tiers you can find Rare versions and also Ultra-Rare versions. These tend to be useful for crafters performing upgrades or crafting special items. You can find these rares in two ways:
- Finding a creature with a rare hide, such as a Scraggy Hide.
- Receiving one by chance when harvesting a regular node.
You have a greater chance of receiving a rare resource from a regular resource node if you are participating in a Group Harvest.
Locations of Leather
One of the great things about choosing Skinning as one of your harvesting skills is that the resource is much easier to find compared to any other resource. Skinning also complements the Adventurer just looking to earn some extra copper.
Because the Skinning profession involves gathering resources from various creatures throughout the world, listing them here would be too extensive. However, this section will be reserved for listings of known creatures that tend to have rare or very rare hides and could be valuable to those who take up the skinning harvesting skill.
