Dialouge:

Quest Offering:
  • "There is a raki in Tawar Galan," Guan Kyosh says, "who has been instrumental in setting up this peace council. Without him, the council may be stalled indefinitely. I need you to eliminate him."
  • "However," Kyosh says, "it cannot be tracked back to us, for obvious reasons. Speak to Haji Fang Dawnstar, the magistrate, about further instructions to neutralize this raki."
Npc Dialogue
Guan Kyosh
  • "I have heard you name around the courts," Guan Kyosh says. "Many have spoken well of you."
  • "Thank you," you say. "I have done my best in the past."
  • "Then you may be the right person for this job." Guan Kyoush says.
  • "What do you need from an agent?" you ask.
  • "As I said, discretion is key to this assignment," Kyosh says. "You have heard of the orcs proposal for a peace council, correct?"
  • "I have heard some things about it," you say, "but nothing terribly specific."
  • "The orcs have asked both the elves of Ca'ail Breal and we here in Tanvu to send emissaries to Tawar Galan," he says.
  • "This I have heard," you say. "It is causing ripples in much of the court."
  • "It has. However, some of us do not wish the proposal to succeed," he says. "There much danger in this."
  • "I do not see much danger," you say. "It would be a council dedicated to peace."
  • "The orcs and goblins, whether of the Martok or Gulgrethor know no peace," Guan Kyosh says harshly. "This is a ploy."
  • "And you wish to have it stopped before they can get whatever it is they are truly seeking out of it," you say.
  • "That is correct," Kyosh says. "We are tenuous allies with the elves of late, and we cannot have them allying themselves with the Martok."
  • "That would be quite detrimental," you say. "What do you wish from me?"
  • "I need a key figure neutralized," he says.
  • "That is something I can do," you say.
Haji Fang Dawnstar
  • "Haji Fang Dawnstar," you say, "Guan Kyosh sent me to speak to you about an important mission in Tawar Galan."
  • "Ah yes," he says, "I was wondering when he would get around to actually doing something."
  • "Apparently he didn't, though," the Magistrate says. "He sent someone else to do it. You will do, I guess."
  • "Thank you for your trust, Magistrate Dawnstar," you say.
  • "I don't necessarily trust you yet," he says, "but I've heard your name around the court recently. You star is apparently rising."
  • He continues before you can speak. "This target in Tawar Galan, Fernol, should be fairly easy to eliminate."
  • "I see," you say. "What do you suggest?"
  • "The simplest and cleanest way is always poison," Magistrate Dawnstar says. "The noodlemaker in the city has some firelotus root you can use. Speak to him for that."
  • "Once you collect that," he says, "you'll need something to put it in. Tere is an orc of some infamy there in Tawar Galan. See if you can procure some vise taint from him."
  • "Why vise taint?" you ask. "It is a foul substance from what I understand. Would Fernol even drink it?"
  • "Fernol," he says, smiling, "is know for indulging in foreign cultures' vices. Particularly drink. Though he may not like vise taint, you should be able to convince him to drink it just by piquing his curiosity."
  • "It also has the added benefit of covering the bitter poison with its own abhorrent taste," the Magistrate says.
  • "And with poisoned vise taint in his system," you say, "it will be no difficult matter to convince Iona Riverborn in Ca'ial Brael that the orcs are responsible."
  • "Exactly," he says, nodding. "You are much sharper than you look. Now, please, get going."
Chul Nan the Noodlemaker
  • "Chul Nan," you say, "I was wondering if I could browse your wares here."
  • "That would be fine," he says. "I would recommend the egg noodles there. For the price, you cannot get more flavor."
  • "From what I understand," you say, "there is something you have that has more flavor."
  • "I don't undersand," he says. "All my noodles are specially made to be a meal unto themselves."
  • "I was looking for something a little more exotic," you say. "Say from a flower of some beauty."
  • "Ah," he says. "That is in my special stock." He reaches into a hidden pocket.
  • "That is more what I am looking for," you say, taking the small bottle.
  • "Do you know how to use that?" he says. "I would be very careful with it."
  • "Explain."
  • "The ground root is very deadly," he says, "and I grind it personally to be very fine. It mixes better that way."
  • "That is good," you say. "You take your time to make quality products."
  • "I do," he says, "but be warned. It is easy to accidentally inhale that. Be very careful when you mix it."
  • "I will," you say, bowing. "Thank you for the warning."
  • You have looted Firelotus Root.
Captain Kurik Redeye
  • "Captain Redeye," you bellow. "Just the man I was looking for."
  • "Excuse me?" he says, looking around. "Why would you be looking for me?"
  • "I believe you have something I am looking for," you say.
  • "No, no," he says. "You must be mistaken. I don't have any of that blasted pollen."
  • You laugh. "I'm not looking for any of that. If I was, I'd have a tiger."
  • "That's true," he says. "So, you must just be looking for the tip of my blade."
  • "Why would I want that?" you ask.
  • "I because you want look, I don't know. It was a threat."
  • "And not a very good one," you say. "I just need something small from you, and it isn't the tip of your sword."
  • "What do you need?" he asks. "And be quick, you're giving me a headache."
  • "I need some of that vise taint I know you have," you say. "I have a mighty need to get a raki drunk on the stuff."
  • "You're going to feed it to a raki?" he says, laughing. "Just to hear the tales that will cause, I'll give it to you. I can't wait to hear what happens."
  • "I'm sure you can't," you say. "I'll be sure to feed him all of it. Quickly."
  • You have looted Vise Taint.
Fernol
  • "Fernol," you say, "I was hoping to speak to you while I was here in Tawar Galan."
  • "Me?" he asks. "Why would that be?"
  • "I hear this whole peace council idea has come to fruition because of you," you say. "That's fantastic."
  • "Why, thank you," he says.
  • "However did you manage to do such a good job bringing such disparate cultures together?"
  • "Well," he says, smiling, "I just listened to everyone, and didn't make judgement."
  • "That's a very respectable thing," you say, "but that can't be all of it. People don't talk that much, especially orcs."
  • "They are quite tight-lipped," he says, "and you're right. I have found that if you drink with these people, they are far more likely to open up with you."
  • "Really?" you say. "So you've had all the foreign fruits of fermentation?"
  • "Well, no," he says, looking down. "There's still a few I have to try."
  • "I bet I've got one here," you say. "I've just got some vise taint. It's a favorite among the orcs, and I'm sure you could finally crack their shell if you could show them how well you handle their heartiest liquor."
  • "I don't know," he says, turning his nose away from the stein. "That is putrid smelling."
  • "Yes," you say, "but would you stop the quest for knowledge for such a small thing?"
  • "I I guess you're right," he says, taking the stein from you. "Bottoms up, I suppose." He holds his nose, then takes…"
  • Fernol takes Poisoned Vise Taint from you.
  • You have looted Empty Stein.
Iona Riverborn
  • "Iona Riverborn," you say, bowing, "I have some distressing news."
  • "Yes?" she says. "Who are you?"
  • "I am Demila," you say. "I was sent from Tanvu to meet with someone in Tawar Galan."
  • "And who is that?" she asks.
  • "I came to speak with Fernol about the peace council," you say. "Something terrible has happened."
  • "Tell me," she says. "Did he fall out of a tree and get hurt again?"
  • "Much worse," you say. "He has died, and I believe it was not an accident."
  • "Excuse me?" she says. "He is dead? What happened?"
  • "I arrived in Tawar galan to speak to him about our place in the council and found him in the tavern."
  • "That is a normal place for him to be," she says. "From what I understand of him."
  • "When I arrived, he was already quite drunk," you say. "Before I could speak to him though, an orc offered him something called vise taint."
  • "Oh yes, I've heard of that nasty liquid," she says. "So, his drinking finally killed him?"
  • "Yes," you say, "but I believe there was more in that mug than vise taint."
Quest Completion
  • You hand Iona Riverborn the mug. "There is a little left in the bottom," you say. "I've seen vice taint make people sick, but never kill them. I believe there was something else in the mug."
  • [Continue]
  • "That is interesting, and quite distressing," she says. She takes the mug and places it on the desk. "I'll have someone else look into this and see if something else was in this. I wouldn't be surprised if the orcs were part of this. Ever since he took their council idea and made it his own, they've been quite surly."
  • "Here," she says. "That one of these for your hard work. I'm sure you've earned it."
  • Empty Stein was removed from your inventory.
