Quest Description:
Speak with Warden Hedrien Loamskin about stopping the invasion of Tanvu by the orcs and goblins. They must be convinced there are alternatives.
Once a proposal for alternative measures is prepared, turn it in to Warchief Zowb.
- Speak with Warden Loamskin
- Speak with the Raki Scholar
- Speak with Military Advisor
- Demonstrate the Crystal
- Deter the General
- Namor's Report (0/1)
Walkthrough:
- Get the quest from Speaker Maethornes
- Parley with Hedrien Loamskin (Warden of the Spring), found in the Chamber of the Sun which is the lower level of Hall of Wardens.
- Scholar Liam , found in the lower level of the Chamber of Tomes. Completing this parley will give you Raki Crystals. This quest item must be kept to complete the writ.
- Warseer Krevnar is found in Tawar Galan at the coordinates 236, -69223, 4633.
- Namor, found in Gulkar’s Encampment in the Island of Martok, at coordinates 82561, 60674, 295. This outside the main tent in the encampment, to the east. WARNING: To get from Tawar Galan to Gulkar’s Encampment you must go through Martok and then south through the Wildgrowth Forest which is filled with aggressive mobs levels 9-12. It is extremely difficulty to travel visibly through the forest and not get attacked if you are lower levels. If you cannot handle single or double combats against 9-12 level mobs, or if you are not able to sneak/invis your way through the forest, you cannot do this Writ. Once completed, there will be a short spectacle involving the taunting of Namor to an Enthralled Yukiona who will then flee (falls to the ground). Once this is done, Hail Namor again to get Namor’s Report. This quest item must be kept to complete the writ.
- General Zewg, found in Martok at the coordinates 28249, 34916, 8695.
- Warchief Zowb, found adjacent to General Zewg. This is the writ concluder. No parley is required, just hail him and follow the script.

Quest Offering:
- Speaker Maethornes says, "Certain members of this council seem to be trying to rally Martok into a war against Tanvu. They believe that the corruption of Jin brought about by the Ra'Jin warrant a full attack on Tanvu, but this simply is not the case."
- "Undo what they have done. It is the promise of a power that will repel yukiona that entices the orcs to battle, but we have an alternative for them; one we will offer in exchange for their help in merely eradicating the Ra'Jin."
Npc Dialogue
Speaker Maethornes
- You say, "Speaker Maethornes, what words does the spring have for the council?"
- Speaker Maethornes smiles with an odd twinkle to her eye and says, "The spring has many words. What I ahve to say now may not be what reaches the council."
- "What do you mean?" you ask.
- "Water does not have one, set path," says Speaker Maethornes. "It is not so immovable as stone. Water goes where it can, choosing to cut a new path rather than be deterred by an obstacle."
- "So, as Speaker of the Spring, you do not express only one opinion, but rather appraise what the general climate is, and go where is best?" you ask.
- Speaker Maethornes nods and says, "We find it is better to react than to direct."
- "And this has been effective?" you ask. "You don't feel line some concerns of yours go unaddressed?"
- Speaker Maethornes shrugs and says, "Not everything is ultimately optimum for us, but we find that we almost always get something of what we want."
- "I suppose there is some merit to always getting some concessions," you say, "though it does seem like there must be some issues on which you should not budge."
- Speaker Maethornes shrugs and says, "Maybe once in a long while."
- "Oh?" you ask. "Such as?"
- Speaker Maethornes looks thoughtful and says, "Some years ago, the population of a certain fish was growing out of control and polluting the waters of the river with its refuse."
- "We advocated a mass harvesting of them," says Speaker Maethornes, "though the Path of the Beast would hear nothing of it. They tried to propose introducing a predator, but we did not think that would be for the best. Fortunately, the Warden of the Flame was moved by our argument, and took up our cause."
- "And we dined on fish for some months," says Speaker Maethornes with a smile.
Hedrien Loamskin
- Hedrien smiles at you. "I assure you, we will come to a decision that will protect Ca'ial Brael, while also serving her neighbors and the wood."
- You say, "Warden Loamskin, I understand that you wish to have an envoy sent to Martok to hopefully bring and end to the invasion of Tanvu."
- "I do," he says. "When our… contacts picked up word of what was going on, we were very concerned. Very, very concerned."
- "The Tanvu humans have been good enough neighbours," he says. "And while they may have run into some troubles lately, we do not think that cause to abandon them."
- He blinks and gazes off into the distance. After a moment, you say, "Warden Loamskin?"
- He glances at you, narrows his eyes, and then seems to refocus. "Throwing the humans to the orcs is not the answer to Kojan's problems, even if there are those on these council who believe it to be."
- "So what would you have me do?" you say. "Speaker Maethornes said that the orcs were enticed by the promise of the artifact that Tanvu holds that seems to repel spirits."
- "It repels ulvari," he says. "It is important to point out to the orcs that there is no guarantee it will work on the yukiona. Now, on the other hand, we have found that the attuning crystals the raki set up for us do repel the yukiona."
- "One of our raku Scholars, Liam, can tell you more about that, and offer the orcs one as a sign of good faith," he says.
- "In exchange, we would like the to divert a small force to help destroy the Ra'Jin," he continues. "The corruption of Jin that they have brought about is doubtless part of what unleashed the yukiona, and all should agree they need to be stopped."
- "And that will turn any supporters your opposition on the council may have had toward you," you say.
- He nods and says, "We need to remind then that there are alternatives, and that alternatives are the core of why the council exists. We must weigh all options, and chose that which achieves the greatest results at the least cost."
- "Who among the orcs should I speak with?" you ask.
- "I have it on good authority that our opposition asked an orc to Tawar Galan for counsel," he says. "Warseer Krevnar. Speak with him, and he should be able to advise you about who to speak to above him. That is, if you can convince him of our case."
- "If you can't though, you probably are not cut out for this," he says with a shrug.
- He concludes, "So there you have it: speak to Scholar Liam, and then move on to Warseer Krevnar."
Scholar Liam
- "So many secrets to unlock in this tome!"
- You say, "Scholar Liam, I understand you know a few things about the yukiona."
- He glances up at you and his nose twitches. "I do," he says. "Why?"
- "I have been sent here by Warden Loamskin," you say. "I trust you know what that means."
- He wrings his hands and nods. "I have been studying the potentialities of our crystals Warden's request, yes," he says.
- "And what have you concluded?" you ask.
- "I think that if they can be attuned to the yukiona's essence," he says. "The orcs should be able to use them to keep the yukiona out of their forests."
- "This is base on some very preliminary research though," he says. "There is no certainty that it will work. I need more time to be sure!"
- You say, "Unfortunately, we do not have time. Our opponents have already spoken with the Martok and incited them to battle."
- "We need to speak with them immediately, and to have a solid alternative to taking Tanvu's artifact to present to them."
- Scholar Liam nods rapidly and says, "I see. I see. Well, the crystals will need to be attuned… We have been growing extras to make sure we can replace our own if they are damaged."
- "But it will be some time before we can replenish our own stock if we give them too many," he says.
- "Peace in Kojan is at stake," you say. "If Martok and Tanvu go to war, these islands will have much bigger problems."
- Scholar Liam nods and says, "Here. Bring these to them. I will provide instructions so that their mages can attune the crystals to the yukiona."
- "Do be careful with them, though," he says, looking at you with wide eyes. "Each of these represent decades of growth."
Warseer Krevnar
- Krevnar sneers at you and says. "I am only here at the request of a man I admire, and you are not that man. I will be gone soon."
- You say, "Warseer Krevnar, I come to you from the council of Ca'ial Brael."
- "Again?" asks Warseer Krevnar with a frown. "I had words with a representative already."
- "And I have given all advice I can," he says. "Martok should go to war easily if you follow my strategy."
- "I represent a different facet of the council, "you say. "One that does not want to see Martok invade Tanvu."
- Warseer Krevnar stares at you critically and says, "You wood elves. You can never make up your minds."
- He crosses his arms over his chest and says, "So, what do you have to say? Your opponent was convincing."
- "Kojan does not need more conflict," you say. "Your people already battle the Gulgrethor and your own forest."
- "The Tanvu humans fac the ulvari on all sides," you say. "This war will only spread the two of you even more thin."
- "But once we have the human city," he says. "We will have an answer to the yukiona, and then the Gulgrethor will face our full force and fall on your blades."
- "I bring you an alternative to the Tanvu artifact," you say. "One you can utilize immediately to get the yukiona out of your forests."
- "And what do you have for me, Mordebi?" he ask, frowning but curious.
- "These crystals need only to be attuned to the yukiona," you say, tapping them, "and will then create an effective barrier against the yukiona."
- "And Ca'ial Brael is prepared to give them to us for nothing?" he asks dubiously.
- You say, "Call off the invasion of Tanvu, and send them only a single unit of elite soldiers to strike directly at the Ra'Jin. It is doubtless their corruption that weakened Jin enough to allow the yukiona through. They are your true enemies, and the enemies of all Kojan."
- Warseer Krevnar looks thoughful and says, "You offer us a swifter way to drive the yukiona away, and a simpler task to earn it. I see no reason why the Warchief will not agree to this."
- "He will want to know those crystals work the way you claim, though," he says. "Take them to the mage Namor at Gulkar's Encampment, and then report your findings to the General."
- "If you impress the General, he will advise the Warchief to call off this invasion, and the Warchief will listen," he says. "If you cannot impress him, he will take what we need from Tanvu."
Namor
- "I can't figure out why they were able to escape after so many years!"
- Namor nods and says, "I have managed to keep this one thoroughly charmed enough to study her."
- "What have you found?" you ask.
- "Very little," he says with a frown. "I cannot understand how they broke through the barriers holding them." He lets out an exasperated sigh.
- "And you have no idea for how to get them back inside it?" you ask.
- "None," he says, throwing up his hands. "The best I've been able to do is offer tips for defeating them. But the more well kill, the more flood out."
- "And the forest grows wilder by the day," he says, peering about himself with an uneasy look.
- "Then let me offer you this," you say, showing him the crystal.
- "What is this?" he asks, glancing over it.
- "A crystal from the raki," you say, "which they believe could be used to pen the yukiona if atttuned to their essence."
- "Do you think you could attune it?" you ask. "Here are the instructions." He glances over them.
- "I could," he says, glancing over them eagerly, "But why would the raki gives these to us?"
- "As an offer of good faith," you say, "and to keep Martok from invading Tanvu for their artifact."
- Namor nods and says, "I will try to attune it, and see. If it does what it says you can, Martok may agree to call off their invasion."
- "But only if this works!" he says, waggling his finger.
General Zewg
- General Zewg just stares at you in an intimidating manner.
- You say, "General Zewg, it is imperative that you listen to me."
- General Zewg glances at you and say, "What is it, Mordebi?"
- "I know that Martok plans to invade Tanvu," you say. "and I am here to stop it. I have come at the request of the members of the Ca'ial Brael council opposed to those who coerced you into this."
- "Are you?" he asks. "And why should we?" The Wildgrowth Forest threatens to consume or island, lead on by the wicked yukiona. If a solutions sits right in front of us, we must go to it."
- "I have already given a set of crystals to the goblin mage Namor," you say. "He is even now exploring the best way to set them up to pen the yukionna back on the mountain."
- "I have it here by his own hand," you say. "And have brought you one of the crystals so you can see them yourself."
- He turns it over in his hands. "Such a little thing could keep in the yukiona?" he asks. "How?"
- "The crystals came from the raki," you say. "These same crystals have shielded Ca'ial Brael from the ulvari for many years now. They have knowledge that is not of this world."
- General Zewg nods and says, "So, Ca'ial Brael would just call off the attack?"
- "To satisfy your bloodlust," you say, "and to strengthen Jin against the yukiona and all of the other forces threatening Kojan, they now ask that you send a single elite unit to strike at the Ra'Jin with them. It is the Ra'Jin who are the problem, corrupting Jin and unleashing such forces as the yukiona on us."
- General Zewg says, "A single unit for an answer to the yukiona?"
- "And a more peaceful Kojan," you say. "You cannot afford to spread your army thinner, and neither can Tanvu."
- "The nations of Kojan cannot be fighting amongst themselves while so many threats press in from outside," you say.
- General Zewg nods and says, "Well spoke. I will advise the Warchief to call off the Invasion of Tanvu, and instead send me to wipe out these foul Ra'Jin."
Quest Completion
- "I am the Warchief, who is it that speaks with me?"
- [Save Tanvu]
- Warchief Zowb nods and says, "You bring a proposal far preferable to fighting another war."
- [Continue]
- "We will kill these Ra'Jin, and then wipe the Gulgrethor from our islands," he says. "And when it is all through, we will talk peace with the humans and wood elves. They may prove to be strong allies yet."
